It has been a real hassle because it's difficult to tell on Dell's website which drivers to install. They have the service tag for my machine, but display about 35 different drivers, some of which don't seem to be applicable to my configuration. I still have 2 devices that show up with question marks in the Device Manager.

Usually one of the devices is audio. No idea what the other might be unless it's video; in that case you could try installing a reference driver from nVidia or ATI as appropriate.

You could look at SiSoft Sandra for hardware diagnostics: http://www.download.com/SiSoftware-Sandra/3000-2086_4-10782401.html?tag=lst-1

Another possibility is to run the built-in DirectX diags: Start...Run...dxdiag
