According to J.D. Power, the most reliable pickups include the Cadillac Escalade EXT; Chevrolet's Silverado; Ford's F-150, F-250 and F-350; the GMC Sierra; and Toyota's Tacoma and Tundra. Consumer Reports puts the Honda Ridgeline at the top of its list, followed by the Tundra, four-cylinder Tacoma, Subaru Baja and turbo-diesel versions of the Silverado and Sierra. http://www.cars.com/go/crp/buyingGuides/Story.jsp?section=Pickup&story=pkupReliable2006&subject=stories&referer=&year=2006Most don't know this but I spent my teen years driving pickups (4 wheel drives) in Colorado and put a lot of miles on every one I drove. If you were considering an old pickup (76-82) I'd go with the Dodge. If you're considering diesel, look at cummins equipped Dodges. I know one guy who swears by his 1999 Chevy Silverado, but then I have a friend who had to get new rear breaks and a universal (yikes) at 60k too.
>I want to get a used pickup in the next couple months. Want something no more than 5 years old, but don't want to spend the money on anything that just came out in the last year or two unless it is an incredible value. Looking for good gas milage, value and reliability mostly. Power and 4-wheel drive, etc isn't that big of a deal. Any recommendations?
