>>>We are trying to figure out why running a new installation, different version, etc, would wipe out files in one of our destination data directories. The old version and the new one both write to this directory. By only installing the new version it is deleting files in that directory. All it should be doing is installing some other things, and adding some files to the data directory, not deleting anything. We are not uninstalling the old version as that definately wipes out the files. Any ideas?

>Well, we think we have it set not to copy the data files into the directory when it's an "Existing" install. When it's a "New" install, we do have it copying in files. This is basically the "Features" option in InstallShield. Kind of like being able to say Full install vs Partial. The way we have it, we don't think it should be deleting any of these files when running as Existing.
Is there a repair option? Might be one in control panel add/remove programs
