I assume that this didn't happen in Banque Morte Gaugeé de Mosambique, n'est pas?>
>No, it was in my own home in Auckland. If you're wondering why I had a UPS with power outlets, it's a long story- suffice to say that I enjoyed (and still do enjoy) asserting that my business is run from an office over my garage. ;-)
We once imported 120+ PCs and 40 UPSes, and tried to put as many as possible to testing, because many were already sold. So we piggybacked as many UPSes as we could, and plugged as many PCs as we could into them - maybe about 30 or so. Which blew up the breaker fuse down the hall whenever it got a little colder and someone in the neighboring offices turned a heater on. At that point, every UPS would start its bleep-bleep-bleep. With 30 of them, it was a real chickenhouse.
