Changing the server to ".\sqlexpress" got me to a better error:

Cannot open database "mydatabase" requested by the login. The login failed.

Changing it to ".\sqlexpress" is much faster too, almost instant. So I think this was the right change, but how do I open mydatabase?

Mydatabase.mdf is located in a different folder than the EXE. How do I specify, or do I have to specify the path to where mydatabase.mdf is? Should it simply know by reference "mydatabase"
