I don't know if this might be an option for you but I had a similar task to do where the aim was to check books in stock (with EAN-Barcode) against a VFP-Database. I made a com-server for getting and changing data in the vfp-app and used the Visual Web Developer Express Edition to make a little ASP.NET web-app which uses the com-server and provides the interface.
