>>>I will second the bedliner, but not the tonneau. It's very handy just to be able to throw stuff in the back of the truck.

>>>I had a '92 Dakota in high school. Man the chicks loved that truck.

>>Yeah, the tonneau is kind of a pain if you're actually using the truck. <g> There is a rib structure that hold it up nice, but means you can't just pull it off the tonneau and throw stuff in, you pretty much have to remove the frame. I just put it on before the snow comes.

>>The other upside of an old truck is - hey, it's a truck. How much do I want to worry about it getting hurt. Main reason I'd never lease one.

>I have been looking at trucks for a while now. We have small SUV and I want to trade it in because I want a 5th wheel camper. I have looked at some older trucks but I am leery of transmission problems (especially in Dodges).

I spent my youth addicted to English sports cars ( MGTD, MGA, Austin Healy 3000, JagXK150 ) where you had stuff like positive ground electrical systems and types of fuel injection American mechanics had never seen, so I am just greatful for anything my guy at the corner Marathon station knows how to fix and can get parts for <bg> Dodge transmission ? At least he's *heard* of that <s>

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
