>I have a customer that currently tracks manufacturing defects in an Excel spreadsheet. They would like to automatically retrieve the cost from VFP tables based on several business rules. It would be great if I could just call a VFP function to retrieve the cost. Is this possible? would it be best to use a COM object?

Either a COM object or add-in works (For add-in do not use VFP but VB).
I don't know what they're doing exactly but also a simple QueryTables might do too.
