Agreed - I was teaching in a high school, where the kids were the worst we had in town... so, I'm also a bit jumpy when it comes to "what do we need the mathematics for", which kind of puts me to the other side. Anyway, even when I opposed your opinion, I was well aware there are cases in which you were right, and I knew of some which could prove you wrong. Makes the problem kind of a statistical one, and having a good sample we can prove anything, which equals no proof at all.
So, never mind - we've all said what we wanted to and we all feel a bit easier.
