>You know that I don't really follow sports anymore (used to when I was much younger), but I don't understand why a Congressional committee is investigating steroid use in baseball. Why the heck is Congress involved in this? OK, so steroid use is illegal (except when prescribed by a doctor), so yeah, I guess there should be an investigation into it ... but isn't that better handled by law enforcement agencies (like DEA perhaps).

Baseball is the national pastime and therefore falls under the jurisdiction of the congress of the United States. :)
