Jim, don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say that everyone who uses/praises VFP "won't even try to learn/use anything else". I'm talking about those who uses/praises VFP and won't even try to learn/use anything else. If the construction of my phrase were incorrect (english is not my main language), then I appologise.

I agree that being forced to change can be an irritant. But I hope that you saw it coming for years that VFP was on it's last miles.

I do not agree with your assumption that a programming language have virtually unlimited applications. For exemple, I would not use VFP or even C# to build a real-time application, unmanaged C++ would be more appropriate. VFP would be a poor choice to develop a XBox-like game.
