Thanks for the links, I've been spending the day playing around, and I know a lot more than yesterday. However, the bottom line right now is that the set of XSD files I have is too complex for VFP to process - I get an error message to that effect. If I can't figure a way to break the task into smaller parts, then I probably have to do brute force programming and create strings directly. That means if they change specs, which is likely to happen, I have to patch my code each time.
