For some of them, yes. For others it may be that they don't beleive in the concept of marriage. The only reason we got married (civil marriage) is because it offered us moneytary advantages at the time of our marriage (insurance, tax, etc.) Otherwise we probably would still be unwed. That doesn't change the fact that we are togheter for over 24 years.
If I were to quit my wife, it's not the fact of being married or not that would influence my decision. My daughter and my responsibilities to her would be far more important.
