>I'm confused. You are not willing to pay for health insurance on your own as long as it is your decision, but you are perfectly willing to use tax dollars from others to have it provided to you for free (I'm referring to previous posts)?

Not only that, I'm willing to use my own tax dollars as well, specially if they are going into a system which will provide services to all, regardless of how deep their pocket is, whether they are currently employed, and how many hours were they able to devote to reading the small print. And I'm willing to pay that when I'm healthy, too. It can be much cheaper that way. So... how is it free if I'm paying for it?

IOW, if we think government run health is wasteful (which may be true in this country, but is not necessarily the case everywhere around the world), I'd say that health insurance for profit is at least twice as wasteful... and morally dubious as much as private prisons or private armies or loan sharks.

>>While his style may disgust, he's got a point there, and since Joe Q Sixpack is unwilling to take notice of this point until its shoved into his brain rectally, maybe there's some merit to the method.

>>OTOH, I've seen Sicko (I'm sure mr. Moore won't mind using a P2P procurement method) and there's not much in it that I didn't know already. I only didn't know how deep does the hole go - and it's abysmal.

>>I'm definitely not paying any health insurance in this country, as long as I have the liberty to decide what to do with my money. Anything that may happen falls into one of these:
>>
>>- stay healthy (works so far)
>>- no big deal, can be taken care of by OTC stuff
>>- local doctor can do this, and he'll give me 25% discount for not having to deal with insurance
>>- it's more than $1000 - I'll fly home and do it there
>>- it's too much and I wouldn't survive the flight - dang. More luck in next life. Spend a grand or two to finally try those drugs before I go. Don't get anybody indentured for the pleasure of surviving a few more days/weeks of agony.
