I thought you meant that the alias itself was readonly. If it is, a window comes up and tells you that you will not be able to edit the data, because the alias is readonly.

How do you handle situations that do not fit the default behavior of the class? The whole parent/child relationship thing isn't always relevent. Have you modified the class or do you use it the way it came?
