You could use Enterprise Services (COM+) and impersonate another user.

>I have a desktop application that needs to be able to read, write, and modify file on a file server. The users will not have rights to these files or folders but I will have an account for the appllication that does. By default when the users use the application all the permissions are set for the logged in user. How do I get .net to use a differnt domain userID and Password account when accessing these files? I have found a way to do this via api calls in MS programmer's cookbook but would perfer to use managed code.
