I just "finished" converting my app from VFP3 to VFP5 and have noticed some speed degradation.

The forms rely mainly on local views and the query tool uses SQL statements. They definately run slower in VFP5 than they did in VFP3. I realize that there are stability benefits to VFP5 but I thought that there were also supposed to be speed benefits.

The SQL statments also create very large TMP files. Bigger than the ones that were created in the VFP3 app.

Any tips/similar experiences out there?

Also, do DECLARE...DLL statements slow things down? My app seems to be shutting down slower since I added a number of API functions.
