Depends on the wireless environment.

If it is a noisy RF environment or low signal strength you will have problems.

We have customers using a .NET CF app we wrote that talks to a network SQL server and most have no problems. One does - their building has an ornate tin ceiling throughout (it was built in early 1900's) that causes serious wireless problems even when the handheld is within a few feet of an access point due to signal reflections.
