Thank you, the documentation is very clear on how it works, the concept is easy to understand too; I'm really just wondering if anyone is using the connection string with IP address -- looking for someone with experience with it (obviously for connecting remotely).

I'm not talking about ODBC either, don't know if anyone is using ODBC and c#/.NET -- I'm going through ADO.NET, probably should have put this under that category.
