Any problems with installing the 3.5 framework can be posted here http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=1020&SiteID=1

There's a procedure you have to follow to report the problems you have http://blogs.msdn.com/aaronru/archive/2007/12/10/what-to-do-when-you-go-to-post-a-setup-and-deployment-issue-on-the-msdn-forums.aspx

You may get some help - but don't hold your breath - I had to completely reinstall my vista from scratch - http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2526625&SiteID=1

But first, look where it goes wrong. Look at all the points (skip the first) of the last message in the thread
It sometimes helps to install a fix separately and reboot after that

Good luck - you may need it.

UPDATE: I use complete pc backup (on a usb drive) (you need Vista Ultimate or premium I think) prior to install attempts. If anything goes wrong, I can restore my pc (the C drive this is)
