Nah, I'll not twit you; you have a gentle soul.

I wondered the same thing as I was writing my list. I agree that I'm not the easiest person to deal with - online anyway - but I believe that the people on this list have more in common than the fact that they pissed me off. If you boil it down I think these are the basic elements. I think that the people on my list shared more of these characteristics than less.

Condescending
Smug
Childish
Liberal
Insulting
Tiring

These are things that bother me, not necessarily that bother others. But the neat thing about it is that the Twit Filter is subjective. There are no rules other than those I choose to create. When I reached a point where I did not want to listen to them anymore, then they either met my intrinsic criteria or new criteria was created for them to make the list. It's not anything that is easy to define, but I know when it's time for them to join the others.

>I would not like to get into a detailed discussion about every one of the individual cases you mentioned, but in general terms, I think that when you have problems communicating with so many different people (i.e., things get so bad you have to apply the twit filter), then it is time to at least think about the possibility that there is some problem on YOUR side. Or at least on both sides.

>Now, I guess your twit filter is likely to increase by one as a result of this message. Oh, well.

>>Went back and looked up the last conversations I had with these people. Here are the basic reasons I chose not to deal with them any longer. I know there was more to it, but this is the gist of what caused me to hit the Twit button:
>>
>>Denis Chasse: Inane passive-aggressive comments. Just got tired of the insults dressed up in childish wit.
>>Evan Delay: Extreme liberal views bothered me at first. The anit-USA condescending attitute clinched it.
>>Jean Laeremans: Just got tired of his attitude. Always attacking and being smug about it.
>>Chris McCandless: Incredibly condescending and insulting.
>>Naomi Nosonovsky: Weary of trying to communicate with her. She is never wrong. It's always someone else's fault.
>>John Ryan: I can't really tell why. We disagreed a lot, but didn't see anything too heavy.
>>Terry Thurber: Oh my God. I can't even begin on this guy. Or girl, I never really knew. What a shmuck.
>>Peter De Valença: Very tiring to read. Same thin arguments over and over. The Great Thin-Skinned White Knight.
>>
>>I was actually surprised at some people who are not on my list.
>>
>>Ok, bring mine on. I'm sure I'm on a filter or two. If I can dish it out, then I better be able to take it too. Oh, wait. Those people aren't reading this anyway.
