I think you are only klimited by your own ability to keep track of them :-).

However, each table occupies many records and the DBC has the same record limits as a DBF.

I just naturally use the database structures to separate the tables into related groups. Since you can have multiple databses open sim,ultaneously, using multiple databses is not a problem. I hate some software that ahs 100s otf tables in one DBC and I am trying to find a particular table to work on it. The dbc is not the best interface for finding things.
