Select the grid, then, under the File menu, select "Save as class". A dialog will pop up which asks if you want to save the selected controls or the Current form. Make sure you choose "Selected controls". This popup will also ask for the class name and class library.

I don't know the answer to your second question, so I'll let someone else chime in.
