But how to use DBI components if they can be installed only on SP2, given that SP2 introduced some showstoppers for meny people.

Sounds like a sort of deadlock situation to me.
And apart of DBI controls, what about other parts of Sedna; Did anybody test what actually works on top of Sp1 ?
