Did you know WRAL in Raleigh was the first tv station nationwide to broadcast in HDTV? :o)

>So does mine, but it has an "HD" antenna displayed on the screen also.
>
>>Our local channels broadcast commercials about it periodically and instruct viewers to go their website for information on the government plan for $ assistance for the converters.

>>>Too bad about that. Still, antennas corrode and do lose performance with age. A new one can't hurt.
>>>
>>>This is the what gets me about all of this - the lack of public education. By anyone. The fear of going 'dark' will drive the economy up some in response, I suppose.
>>>
>>>I've got a friend out here in the sticks that just bought a new 27" flat screen with the digital tuner. He takes the antenna lead and swaps it between the analog and digital inputs. Now I see what all the fuss is about. It blows away DirecTV (barring HD content). Simply fantastic, from snow to crystal clear.
>>>
>>>>I've seen it already. I was going to have a talk with my dad when I saw his aerial antenna was replaced with a fancy shiny cool looking HD antenna.
>>>>
>>>>>LOL. Yes, some will fall for the marketing hype. "Digital Ready Rabbit Ears, only $29.95!"
>>>>>
>>>>>>There is no difference between rabbit ears, aerial antenna on top of your house, HD antenna, or amplified HD antenna. They are the same things, only different ranges. Best Buy is going to make a lot of money convincing people they need to upgrade to an HD antenna.
