Isn't that a far cry from "...not permitted to gather and worship" and "...severely restricted from doing business"? And is the gender thing restricted to Jews?

Thousands have left (fled?) Iran since the revolution of 1979. But there's still a sizeable number there. Why would they stay if things are as you say?
