Ok, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have had this problem, but I couldn't find a post, so I thought I better make one to help other users, and maybe get some help myself...

Here's the symptom: When your merge document renders to the screen the "Preview Results" button won't work. The only way you can get the document to merge is to click the "Finish & Merge" button. I'm new to mail merges in fox, and was getting mine setup with some help from Cetin Basoz (Thread ID: 1286305) when I came across this problem. His was working fine, so I thought it must be a setting in my Word Installation. I found the setting, but now I need to figure out how to turn it off programmatically.

Here's where you go to fix this manually

In Word 2007 click the "round" file menu button --> Word Options --> Click Advanced --> Uncheck "Show field Codes instead of their values". Once you set it, then it will save itself for next time, it doesn't actually need to be set everytime. It's confusing however if it's not set. You get the feeling something is broken.

Does anyone know if I can set this option for my users programmatically, and if there is a difference between how this is set in Word 2003 vs Word 2007?
