Down to four candidates, two in each party. And it isn't even Super Duper Tuesday yet.

I have to tip my hat to Hillary for the results in Florida yesterday. No Democratic delegates were at stake because Florida defied party rules but everyone saw the results. (Characteristically, Hillary is now pushing for the delegates to be seated at the convention anyway). It was an important bounce-back win for her after what happened in South Carolina. I am not alarmed by it because Hillary had some demographic advantages in Florida, just as Obama did in SC. Florida had a higher than average percentage of female voters (59%) and a much higher than average percentage of older voters (40% over 60, 74% over 45), both groups which favor her.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Tuesday. To me it seems unusual to see a race go back and forth like this. Usually one candidate takes charge and then pulls away, as McCain is apparently doing on the Republican side.

A tip of the hat to him as well. Remember last summer when he was down in the polls, running out of money, and expected to drop out? I guess when you've survived five years being tortured as a POW you don't give up easily. As I have said many times, if it comes down to McCain and Hillary I know which way I'm going to vote.

>Edwards defined and addressed the issues that were of interest to many people, while his rivals pointed fingers at each other and looked cute. The media complained that no democrat addressed any issues. Perhaps no one in the media heard Edwards?

>Two candidates that frightened me were Thompson and Giuliani. Well, they are both out of the race so I can sleep better at night. :)

>I hope that the remaining candidates both republican and democrat focus on what they perceive as problems our nation faces and how to address them. These personality contests are revolting. But then I have to remember that it is the personality that gets elected.
