Thanks for your reply, I was afraid it might be that case...

Anyway... I tried an experiment to see if I could use the SHOW, ACTIVATE or WHEN of the READ to see if a window resize triggers these. It was then I hit an unexpected snag -- once a READ is in effect, resizing of windows seems to be disabled (at least for windows participating in the READ). When you hover the mouse cursor over the window borders it changes to the double-pointed arrow, but dragging on the edges does nothing. I've tried adding a push-button control with a VALID clause to call a routine to perform a MODIFY WINDOW to attempt a resize and it still didn't seem to work.
