I decided the same for 24. I couldn't stand missing a show due to its design so I stopped watching and decided to only watch the entire season over a weekend on DVD. I did that with the 1st season and it was GREAT. However, I never watched the remaining seasons except once or twice and then it's not any good if you don't know the whole synopsis.
