I just got off the phone with comcast. I negotiate with them from time to time. It is getting harder to do these day but I did get a $15 discount on my cable. My friend subscribes to comcast's local channel/public access cable level of service which I think is about $8 but you still get the $18 bundle discount on the internet so if you decide to stay with comcast for internet try that. It is hard to beat cables speed.

You will have to let me know how you like the dish. I still may switch.

I called Comcast to cancel their TV service, saying I want to keep the internet part. The rep told me I am losing the package discount and internet access will now be $59/month instead of $41/month. I am now looking for a new ISP. The features I am looking for, unsurprisingly, are speed, price, and reliability. Any recommendations?
