The last news I've got on him is that he changed carrer to become a lawyer. What good would it bring to the UT to have a lawyer as an active member? I might add that I don't have much respects to lawyers...

Is he interested to come back? Have you talked to him? Did he asked you to start this petition?

Having said that, I don't really care if he come back or not. Those who might get offensed by him just have to twit him or ignore his posts. But if he's allowed to come back, that must apply to all members who were banned, not just JVP.
