I think if Nadya is still here, JVP should be too. You would think those transgressions would be considered much more serious than just pissing people off.

>Without having read the other replies (yet), I agree. As a general principle I am a great believer in freedom of speech and for that reason was against John being banned in the first place. To me someone should be banned from a group, especially an online group where there is no direct interaction and twit filters exist, only for extreme transgressions, not just for irritating people.

>I think given the passage of time, and John's knowledge, which I don't think many would dispute, he should be given another chance. A statement of contrition from John and a desire to be more respectful of others that sounds genuine might go a long way towards persuading people to let him return.
>
>Maybe John would be willing to give a statement along those lines to you and let you post it? I assume you have been in communication.

>>I'd like to know who would be interested in petitioning the Universal Thread (obviously, Michel) to reinstate John V. Petersen.
>>
>>To this day, I've had strong views that John was unfairly and unjustly banned back in September 2004. So many of his points still hold water today, and I think the UT needs him.
>>
>>So...who is with me that Michel should reinstate JVP?
>>
>>Thanks,
>>Kevin
