I was in Bavaria(Bayern) in the mid 80s when I was living in Germany. Beautiful place. I can't imagine the Brewery Bavaria - which is Dutch not German - changing its name since it was founded in the 1700s wasn't it?

>We have a beer company Bavaria. This is also the Latin name of Bayern, de county near Munchen. EU regulations state that regional names are protected and that the compnay must change the name. Bavaria uses the name since 1925. In the mean time the name is still used, so I'm not sure what the current status is.
