I'm working on an app for a major corporation that was originally written in VFP 6. I added my stuff, recompiled and it runs. About the only change I made was to insert a statement in the startup program that sets enginebehavior to 70. One of the things I discusses with the managers of this corporation was that I wanted to move it to VFP 9 to leverage some of the newer, cooler stuff. They told me sure, but don't spend more than a couple of hours on it. I spent less than one hour, and they are impressed with the end result.

By all means, upgrade w/o fear. But, back the source up before you do - you just never know.
