I may have some obsolete ideas in my head, like countries being equal, sovereign and subject to international law...
And if there's such an agreement and open invitation from the Pakistani government, it somehow fails to be mentioned anywhere. There seems to be a lot of resenment, almost animosity, actually - the situation with their president being a military person by origin, the assassination of mme Bhutto, the breach of non-proliferation treaty... all in all, the government there seems very much despised here, and the Pakistani masses, likewise, don't seem to have a soft spot for US. And against all odds, you say there's such an agreement in place? Wow... politics does make strange bedfellows.
