I have some friends from Serbia, Croatia, and Yugoslavia here. There is a small group. Well, small in the sense of compared to the rest of the population. There's also a population of Bulgarians, Greeks, Arabs, Israeli Jews (just mentioned Israeli to specify they came here from Israel), Germans, Panamanians, and from just about anyplace else you can think of. Pretty typical of areas around military installations. Of those I know, about half agree with most of our system, politics, laws, et al. No one agrees with everything, but neither does any American I know. Most continuously remind me (whenever I complain and I do that a lot) of lucky I am and how I don't know how well I have it. Well I do actually. I've been to alot of countries. I'm a firm believer though that the only reason this country is so great is because most refuse to settle and continously want to make it better. I think we can all agree there is a lot that can and needs to change. There are some, however, who only came here because it was the only opportunity to get out of their predicament. Now that they've been here awhile, they are working to change things here to be more like home. They are all still working on getting the rest of their extended family members here though. Only a few of them became citizens and can vote though. I have some friends who have to go home every so often and get their VISA renewed and then come right back.

>It's funny you should mention that. There was just an article in the NY Times the other day about some people (more than a few) in the former Yugoslavia who are nostalgic for the good old days of socialism.

>>Nonsense. The difference being when one country requests the assistance of another country, when they work together, or the search is conducted with the permission of the host country. The point is the permission or request of the host country. Sometimes I really wonder what on earth you are doing in this country Dragan. There are other governments more akin to your views :o)
