>>That is the beauty of it - freedom! :o) It just wouldn't be the west if you didn't have opposing views on everything and everyone expressing them! :o)

>Exactly right. Just as Dragan has the right to say and do as he wishes, we have the right to ignore or pay attention to him.

Actually, drop the "pay" part. Attention is for free.

As for the freedoms at home - at the time I left we had Milošević, who was still in power because the bombing bought him some time. He was already losing ground. Even under him, we had the liberties, just couldn't get far with them. There were opposing political parties galore, and they were winning elections, at least locally. And I actually owned (a 40% share of) a software company, so I was your little capitalist exploiting myself and a few others. And we were doing fine... in terms of how many customers we had, and ongoing maintenance contracts. It's that our customers didn't have the money, and bombing only made it worse - our best customers' customers went out of business, because they had a building or a plant somewhere flattened. And nobody bought new software until they recouped. And nobody paid maintenance until it became an emergency.

But for those who remember - nine or eight years ago, when I was visiting UT from there, I was equally critical of what West is doing. That didn't change, and there shouldn't be any buyer's remorse. I was not an unknown ;).

At least I'm not speaking behind anybody's back. It's all here in the open. Anything I wrote since April 1997 is still here - what the know, it may be a good reason to pay PUTM to be able to search through all that ;).
