>I thought I saw Bill B. leave the field with a second to go, after the Pats went out on downs. However, he must have come back, because I just saw a highlight on the NFL Network where he DID shake Coughlin's hand. So I was wrong.
He shook Coughlin's hand before leaving the field. He thought the game had ended on the 4th down hail mary pass. Actually there was 1 second left. The NFL, being the NFL, made everyone come back on the field so the Giants could take a knee to use up the 1 second.
I didn't watch any of the postgame stuff but read this morning that Belichick seemed almost like a man in shock, both at the press conference (no answer longer than 8 words according to this report) and in the locker room with his players. I imagine there were a lot of shocked Patriots. It has to be tough to get that close and then lose a heartbreaker.
(Speaking of which, great set by Tom Petty).
