Everyone had HDTVs on sale trying to get in on the market before tomorrow. Too many cars on the road and too many people in the stores.Sure- all I wanted was a cheap USB-drive and they tried to sell me a HDTV. Not even the accent (and my gentle protest "it's a lovely TV, but I'm not convinced United would allow me to take it on as hand luggage") was enough to dissuade one enthusiastic young lady who was convinced I'd buy a 42" if she pursued hard enough.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
