I fell coming down the stairs. My knees buckled and all the popping and snapping I heard before I hit the floor turned out to have been my tendons rupturing and tearing away from the knee on both legs. I fell on my right ankle and broke it in 2 places. They put screws and a plate in my ankle and screws into my knees to re-attach the tendons. The operation was December 19th, and I've been in the hospital ever since. Soon I hope they will start allowing me to bend my knees myself. So far I'm not allowed any flexing of the quads, but physio does it for me every day except weekends. I want desperately to be one of those people shuffling slowly down the hallway with a walker, but for now the time frame appears to be vague.

I will, however, get back to normal one day.
