It essentially means that if a person is suffering beyond what is reasonable and there is no hope for recovery a person can request 'Euthnesia'. Before that request is forfilled, at least two independed physicians must be consulted and the person in question must be able acknowledging the request.

>>>
>>>And so Walter, with the permission of the 'life owner' and three doctors, murder of a human being is approved by your country.

>>No, certain stricts rules have to apply as well (e.g. endless suffering without a forecast of improvement).

>>Do you own a pet? Well I do. My cat is terminally ill (12 years old). She is doing quite fine now, but when she cannot eat, walk and clean herself, I'll have to release her of her suffering. Are humans that different from animals ? Why do humans have to suffer more than animals to die ?

>1. Yes I have a pet.
>2. Humans are different than all other animals
>3. Because we value human life over all other life.

>But even more portentous is that fact that somewhere it has been deemed legal to take a human life. No matter how you examine it, it is a death by the intervention of another person. What will the next step in this process be? Perhaps because of over population we could begin to lethally inject everyone in the Netherlands who is over fifty years old? Or what about that radical muslim problem? Why not lethally inject all muslims to create more room and conveniently end the possible islamic population take over of your country? To sum up, now that the door has been opened where will it end? For instance life was very bad for those interred in Dachau during the war. Many of them may have willingly(that is, granted permission) walked into the gas chamber.

>Please don't bother to reply Walter, I have not interest in what you are saying.

Then you should not have replied.

No, there are very strict rules to it. The fact is that this is happening with or without legal laws. You cannot stop it. Lets say your mother is terminally ill and can be kept alive with all kinds of medical aids, but the quality of life is degrading. The person in question wants nothing more than to die, but because of others 'morale' the person has to live and to suffer to the bitter end. Where does this end? It is easy to force and speak of morale when it is not occuring in your neighbourhood, but how would you respond if a dear family member requests to end her life because of dignity of stopping the suffering?? Would you asks her to inject herself so that it technically is suicide ?? Come one....

Whether you like it or not. It is happening, everywhere in the world... In the netherlands, In Canada and the US. Physicians going through huge risks right now to help such a person, so it is done illegally. The netherlands recognised it cannot stop the practises, so they made it legal under very strict circumstances.

It reminds me about the discussion of abortions. Whether you like it or not, it is happening. If you don't regulate it, accidents happen.
