>>>There been many cases of paroled killers killing again. I don't know when was the last time in recent years that an innocent man was executed.

>>I'm too lazy to go back and find the exact date when you got divorced from logic.

>One of those monthly grumpy days?

Yes - one of those when my patience and your logic take a leave at the same time.

>>First "It's thou shall not murder." - therefore, about the linguistic difference between the biblical meanings of "kill" and "murder" - as if Christianity was a solely English language thing (and what GW2B speaks isn't much of English either). But then you go on "paroled killers killing again". Huh? What does that have to do with the semantics of the Christian commandment? Or is it "if we don't kill them, we have to let them go free". Do I hear a XOR() here? Either kill them or let them free? Another Christian XOR(), black XOR white, tertium non datur? Dichotomy as the only way of thinking? You should g... um, they should get a life.
>
>You don't see the difference in "thou shalt not kill" and "thou shalt not murder"?

OK, let me try again then - "kill" can apply to animals or to self-defense, killing by accident or without being aware, "murder" is a premeditated, decided upon, action, right?

If that's the difference, how is capital punishment not murder?

>What is it with you and Christianity? Geez get a grip?

Oh, no, it's not religion this time - and "geez" won't work on me for the same reason. Sorry for bringing it in here, but I thought it may explain this either-or semilogic that you applied. I know how they love dichotomies, black vs white, good vs bad, us vs rest of the world, 0 vs 1 and other simplified cases.

This is not about religion, it's just about you going "it's either capital punishment or letting them loose and killing again". May I remind you that you have forgotten life term, 25 without parole and other available sentences? Why do you imply "if we don't kill them, they will kill again"? Aren't there prisons?

>Right. It goes both ways. Just one innocent murder by a parolee is way too much, unfortunately there's too many of them.

There you go again. Either a death sentence or setting them free on a parole. I guess your TV is black & white, too?

>Several of them happen every year. How about all the killings that can and do happen in prison, I guess that's ok.

That's the internal ecology of the penal system here, over which I have no insight, apart what Hollywood chose to show, and we know how far can they be trusted to bring truth to life. I have no clue what it looks like in there. Of course it's not OK, what did you think? "They'll kill each other in prisons, so we may as well save them the effort"? I hope not.

>BTW I was never for execution in questionable cases.

As others said in this thread, there were cases where the defendants have exhausted all legal means available and lost - and were exonerated later. These cases wouldn't qualify as questionable, but were clearly cases of wrongful convictions - in hindsight. So how can we know which cases are questionable?
