If you are RDPing to the server to start with, the only thing to stop you from doing it again after you restart it, would be if the changes you made prevent the RDP (permision change, setting change, etc.). That is assuming you have permission to restart of course.

Update: One other thing... If the restart has problems and does not come all the way back up, what affect will that have? If it is a production system, the best way is to always restart locally.
