There's a LOT of debate here, with all kinds of arguments. The thing that currently bothers me most is that a 'confession' alone apparently isn't enough to convict. Additional evidence is required. This is odd, from an ethical point of view. The signal sent out to criminals is:

If you kill someone, take care to dispose the body completely, to ensure it is never found back. Even if you go to the police and tell them you are the one who disposed the body, they can only convict you for letting the body disappear and not for having killed the person. Not even if you confess that too.

This is a ridiculous consequence of our laws.

>I did. It was very interesting. My gut tells me he's guilty, but then there is the chance it was all bravado in front of the guy, even with his statements about how it would be damaging for him if her body were discovered... I suspect he gave her something that caused the seizures and then, who knows? Still, personally, I couldn't convict based on it.

>>BTW, did you watch it?

>>>It's on tonight here:
>>>
>>>ABC News has obtained exclusive U.S. rights to this stunning new information caught on tape and will air a 90-minute special edition of "20/20: The Final Hours of Natalee Holloway" Monday at 9:30 p.m. ET.

>>>>I for sure did believe he's innocent. Even his overall image on tv was a positive one all the time. But odd enough there are quite many people who always got a negative feeling about hima when watching him on tv, esp. women.
>>>>
>>>>Anyway, the way he acted in the car (where the hidden cameras were) was totally different from the acts when interviewed. It was a relevation and a demonstration that people can convince you with their lies.
>>>>
>>>>>Did most Dutch consider him innocent until the show? Here, no one really knew what to suspect. We have a natural suspician but no knowledge one way or the other.
>>>>>
>>>>>
>>>>>
>>>>>>In the last part of the documentary they have close ups of her while watching the confession. I think she impressed most (Dutch) people.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>On Dutch weblogs the documentary is widely discussed today. Most are stunned and so will be most Americans when they get the chance to see it on tv. I guess it's still a little bit too early to discuss it here, but for me it may be interesting to see the differences (or lack of them) here and on Dutch weblogs.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>>Just last week we've had some short interviews with her mom where her mom basically said she had seen the video before it aired and had decided that her daughter was indeed dead now. She always knew it, but she also always had a glimmer of hope until watching that video. It was decent of them to give her a view of it before it ever aired. She got to see the entire thing.

>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>At this very moment we're watching here on Dutch tv the documentary about the undercover interviewing of Joran van der Schoot. Mu opinion - and it will be the opinion of 94 percent of the viewers - is that he's guilt as hell.
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>In the confession he tells his criminal friend that she suddenly died (shaking and so on) and that he and a friend thought it would be best to get rid of her body. My hunch is that he was far more guilty and although he told every detail he didn't want to tell his friend that he actually killed her.
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>UPDATE: His name is Joran van der Sloot (not Schoot). Can someone correct the thread title?!!
Groet,

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
