So you prefer that you pay more so they can pay less?

Do you think that any U.S. (or Canadian or ???) corporation can compete with countries (i.e. China) where workers are paid $2. per day and a good part of that goes back to 'the company store' in payment for lodging and board?

The corporations have a pattern here, very well developed:
1) Get local financial concessions;
2) Get tax concessions at state/federal level;
3) Cut benefits in the name of productivity and competition;
4) Make the work day longer without more pay;
5) Lay off some workers, leaving the others to complete the work without added pay;
6) Fold up and move to China anyway.

If the company happened to have a (old-styled) pension plan there would be a 5(a) Tell the future pensioners that tight business condiions have forced them to default on their pension obligations.
