I have compiled a small stand alone solution that uses a form a couple of text boxes and a buttons on the form. Once I choose the options on the form and click a start processing button if I move my mouse off the form and open another other program ( internet, another process ) the form dies and becomes non-responsive. This was happening in debug mode but I thought it would fix itself once compiled into an .exe file.

Is there a property/option I need to set in my build options under the "release" build process that I am missing?
