While 3rd world nations are blowing this average away their populations do not live as long due to numerous factors. The population of the earth is not increasing anywhere close to exponentially and the balance will be reached long before due to socio-economic factors.

Never mind war, famine, AIDS, murder, car crashes (et al), the resurgence of, say, TB, new strains of malaris, etc, etc. In the test tube the microbes have no mortal enemies, lack of food, earthquakes, etc.
