This is obviously not normal behavior and it shouldn't happen in debug mode either.

What else is your app doing? What is this "processing" that it's doing and how are you doing it? Are you using threads?

Once I choose the options on the form and click a start processing button if I move my mouse off the form and open another other program ( internet, another process ) the form dies and becomes non-responsive. This was happening in debug mode but I thought it would fix itself once compiled into an .exe file.
