I may be wrong here, but aren't you the guy a few years back that touted that theory that only healthy and intelligent people should live? The best should live, the others should die? I can't remember the details or the group that supports it. Maybe it wasn't you.
UPDATE: But, regardless, what will this day of fasting really do? It's like only helping out at Christmas at the homeless shelter. And actually, not even that good. Is the goal to raise awareness? Make yourself feel good? You are wrong. Just because I don't see the value of this day does not mean I do not care about the poor. Your logic is flawed.
